We're halfway through January 2025, and the hype of New Year’s resolutions has FADED for many. Maybe you missed a workout or indulged in something that wasn’t part of your meal plan. IT'S OKAY! Falling off track is not the end—it’s an opportunity to learn and realign.

Gainz and Shreds Meal Prep's in-house health and fitness expert Coach Kiley Pearl knows that setbacks are part of the process and brings you "Damage Control: Fixing Your FAILED New Year Resolutions" to offer guidance on how to course-correct, set BETTER goals, and finish 2025 STRONGER than you started.

1. Evaluate What Went Wrong

Let's get introspective: WHY did your goals fizzle?

  • Were they too vague?

  • Were they unrealistic?

  • Did you try to change too much all at once?

These mistakes are common -- you're NOT alone. And reflecting on your approach isn’t about beating yourself up—it’s about learning. Start by writing down what didn't work.

2. Adjust Your Goals to Be Realistic and Flexible

The key to success is setting goals that challenge you without overwhelming you. After evaluating what went wrong, we move on to setting SMART Goals, which are:

  • Specific

  • Measurable

  • Action-Oriented + Attainable

  • Realistic

  • Time-Bound

Biting off more than you can chew can leave you discouraged when you make a mistake. Rather, nailing the small habits gives you the sense of self efficacy to continue, and to build on small, consistent wins. This is what leads to sustainable results!

3. Celebrate Small Wins

Speaking of small wins—don’t underestimate their power. Success is built on consistent, achievable progress. When you hit a milestone, even if it’s as simple as sticking to your routine for a week, celebrate it.

Take it from Fernan, who lost 30 pounds in her first three months with Coach Kiley Pearl's guidance. Her strategy? Focusing on daily wins, like hitting her protein goals and increasing her water intake. Click the button below to check out her success story.

Fernan’s success is PROOF that habit-building WORKS. In her first eight weeks, she lost 10 pounds by committing to small, daily habits.

In her story you'll see Fernan fuels her success with Gainz and Shreds Meal Prep, including some her favorite dishes (wildly popular with the FitFam Community too!) like the Low Carb Chicken Enchiladas, Low Carb Mini Shrimp Tacos, and Low Carb Breakfast Tacos, along with some of her staples.

Enjoying Gainz and Shreds Meal Prep's nutritious and flavorful meals can make

ticking to YOUR goals easier than ever, just like Fernan. Keep an eye on the menu, because there are MANY new dishes coming in January and February!

4. Focus on the Benefits Beyond the Goal

Remember, your fitness journey is about so much more than numbers on a scale. It’s about building confidence, increasing energy, and setting yourself up for long-term health. Maybe your initial resolutions didn’t stick because they weren’t aligned with your deeper "why," or perhaps you needed this reminder to re-focus on the deeper "why!"

5. Set Yourself Up for Success with Support

You don't have to pursue your goals alone -- Surround yourself with tools and a support system that make it easier to stay on track. This could mean:

  • Prepping meals in advance (including ordering Gainz & Shreds!)

  • Having a workout buddy

  • Partnering with a coach who will hold you accountable and keep you motivated

You're environment is everything. Keeping cookies and chips in the pantry? Eek!Let your friends and family know that your health goals are a priority, and not only can they help foster a positive and supportive environment, but they could be inspired by you too!
